This is our response to the call to “boldly venture” that draws our attention to our fear of loss and change. We will consider what Jesus has to say about this in the triad of parables about loss: the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost (prodigal) son. Other ministers will respond with music and insight from across the mission centre. The Beyond the Walls choir will premiere 2 hymns: CCS 91 – Laudate Dominum, and CCS 160 – Spirit Fill Us. Beyond the Walls - Courageously Respond. We hope to see you there on Sunday, October 23, at 12:00 PM or 6:00 PM EDT. Special Call for Choir Members If you love to sing, please consider joining the choir this week for hymn CCS #160 "Spirit Fill Us". This is a special request by CEM Presidency Team and we would love to have as many people from Canada East Mission as possible add their voices. Click the button below for all the details. View Previous Events Pre-legislative discussions help to build democracy by encouraging all stakeholders to ask questions and give comments on the proposed legislation. Everyone will benefit with greater participation as a wider perspective is shared. Important background details that will help to inform delegates and prepare them for the vote will be presented as well. All persons have the opportunity to influence how the legislation is processed so that the best workable solutions can be developed.
With discussions taking place prior to the business meeting, voting members have time prior to the formal meeting to weigh all the data in order to discern what makes most sense. Business meetings can be lengthy and tedius, but with much of the discussion and the questions out of the way, the meeting can be streamlined. Do you have a vested interest in Canada East Mission Centre and/or your congregation? If you do, these sessions are for you. You have a voice! Please join us via Zoom at one or both sessions by clicking on the links to register with your name and email address. The Zoom link(s) will be sent to you.
In each video, President Veazey offers insights on opportunities and challenges before the church. Reflection questions are included for discussions about what is most important in each area of the church. Watch for further videos coming soon. Many people don’t like to talk about finances. But scripture emphasizes that discipleship, stewardship, and increasing our capacity to support Christ’s mission are inseparable. How we pay for worldwide ministries in the future is part of our metamorphosis. Central to this is linking individual and group passions to ministry partnerships around the world that people feel called to support. Our staff and volunteers are busy preparing for World Conference, and the theme is … Courage! A historic opportunity will be remote delegate participation from sites around the world. This will cause conference activities to have new and sometimes even surprising elements to ensure a meaningful experience for all.
