SLIM (Sharing Love in Mission) - 1:45 p.m. Presider Don Robb will focus on listening to that Spirit and discerning how we are being called to respond to the needs of the world and are finding ways to move towards the Peaceable Kingdom. A short video message by President Veazey followed by dialogue on how we see the world and how we may be able to assist a world in need, will be our focus of worship. Contact Don Robb for Zoom info.
Other Online Ministries are available from many varied places for you to connect with. We are happy to present “Onward Together” the emerging plan for Community of Christ in Canada, drawn from the ideas, testimonies, and dialogue gathered in the All Voices discernment. Diverse stakeholders who share in the church’s identity and mission across Canada have been sharing what matters most: why they are committed to Community of Christ as well as their concerns and hopes for our future. She was reunited with them on January 27, 2024, due to a sudden and unexpected passing at the age of 71 years. She will be forever missed by her foster daughters, Maria and June; foster grandchildren, Shanda, Jessica, Stephan, and Tanner; foster great-grandchildren, Nehkaiya, Jace, Nevaeh, Justice, and Aiden; siblings, John Klughart of Edmonton, Alberta, Barbara Kaat of Missouri, USA, and Susan (Paul) Ziehl of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan; sister-in-law, Marlene Klughart of Nanaimo, British Columbia; special nephew, Eric (Melissa) Klughart and their children Drake and Brantley of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, extended family, and friends. Linda was predeceased by her parents, Lester Gilbert (January 7, 1996) and Avis Lorraine (December 10, 1982) Klughart; siblings, Lester Jr. Klughart and Gordon Klughart; as well as many dear loved ones that went before her. Linda played an especially important role in the lives of Maria, Susan and Paul, Susan’s son Eric, his wife Melissa, and their two boys, Drake and Brantley. She spent all major holidays and many family times with them. There will always be many memories of family sitting around Linda’s table as she cooked many celebratory meals for major holidays, as well as Sunday suppers and birthdays. Linda loved to cook big meals, and the more family and friends she had to surround her, the happier she was! She gifted her family with many special baked treats; we could just mention we were hungry for something, and she would make it and show up at our door with it. Her great-nephews, Drake and Brantley, being too young to dial the phone, would often get their grandma to help them call Auntie Linda to request Rice Krispie cake or chocolate chip cookies, and she would deliver them still warm within an hour or two of their request, to be enjoyed at grandma’s house before going home. Linda sincerely spoiled her sister Susan and Susan’s family in any way she could think of. Linda was always just a phone call away for her family, and her older sister Barbara will truly miss their video chats. After finishing high school, Linda went to post-secondary school to become a social worker. She worked for a number of years at Pine Grove Correctional Centre before deciding to return to school to become a teacher, a career she excelled at and greatly enjoyed. During her career, she taught at Buffalo Narrows, Christopher Lake, Wesmor, and John Diefenbaker. Even after retirement, Linda felt she had more to contribute, so she began another career at Kin Enterprises, which she also retired from to pursue her many hobbies, including gardening, wood carving, painting, sewing, and embroidery, to name a few. Linda loved church from a very young age, and upon retiring for the last time, she strived to be a more active part of it. She was a youth leader, camp counsellor, and campfire leader. Linda was among the first women to be called to the priesthood in the Community of Christ Church. She held the office of priest, elder, and then the office of 70. Linda also had a passion for genealogy and keeping her mom’s family recipes alive. She will be forever remembered and loved by those whose lives she touched and those who loved her. Please join us for a celebration of Linda Klughart’s life via Zoom on Saturday, June 8 at 12pm pacific time, 1pm mountain and central time, and 3pm eastern time. |
