It is time for a CELEBRATION!! Blessing of Scarborough Congregation Sunday, June 4th @ 10:30 a.m. 10 Eppleworth Road, Scarborough (or via zoom @ 11 a.m.) Salad Potluck Lunch to follow Plan to join us for a very special Sunday service. We will be blessing the Scarborough Branch building and celebrating a Spirit of renewal for all members and friends. Gathering will take place outside at the front doors at 10:30 am outside. Bring positive thoughts and thanksgiving prayers in your heart and mind. Come prepared to have a special blessing of renewing your spirit and soul. Bring your favourite salad to share in a potluck lunch following the service while enjoying fellowship of your extended family in Christ. Remember God uses broken things to make things better. It takes broken soil to produce a crop, broken clouds to give rain, broken grain to give bread, and broken bread to give strength. Gratitude that we share with one another is the most positive and compassionate force in God’s world. When we offer thanks to God or to one another and other human beings, then gratitude gifts us with renewal, reflection, reconciliation, and reconnection to everything – especially God. We will renew our souls and connect by sharing in communion and fellowship. It is with great sorrow that the family of Joseph William Reid announces his passing, on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at the age of 39. Joseph is survived by his father, William “Bill”, his mother Heather, his sister Rebecca and his beloved niece Sunni. Joseph is also survived by his grandmother Joan Sagle as well as many uncles, aunts and cousins. Joe was a graduate of the ITP program at Lambton College, as well as Business Marketing from Fanshawe College in London. Joe was a skilled musician and enjoyed nothing better than playing his guitars or going to live concerts with his buddies. Joseph believed music was an expression of life and love. He was a certified scuba diver, had a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and even jumped out of a perfectly good airplane. When he wasn’t playing sports, he was rooting on his favourite teams, the Green Bay Packers and the Montreal Canadiens. Joseph’s handy work with tools is displayed with new wooden steps and landing at his parents’, his sister’s and other homes he has worked on. Joe travelled throughout North America, Europe and parts of Asia, backpacking for a month in Thailand. So much talent, so much knowledge, so much life, cut short by the scourge of depression and mental health shortfalls. Loved and remembered. Reach out to others if you suffer. Cremation has taken place.
