Online Book Study

Members and friends of Kitchener Congregation will gather online starting October 19 to study BECOMING KIN: An Indigenous Call to Unforgetting the Past and Reimagining Our Future by Anishinaabe/Canadian writer Patty Krawec. The book explores relationships between Settler/Colonial culture and Aboriginal nations in North America and seeks to help us find ways we can become kin to each other and help bring about  much needed reconciliation.

Upcoming Online Classes through CIMM

The Center for Innovation in Ministry and Mission (CIMM) through the Graceland University/Community of Christ Seminary has opened the following classes for enrollment:Fall B Session (October 23-December 17): 

• Introduction to Scripture: $25
• Ministry of the Deacon:  $25
• Children and Youth Worker Core Training: $25 (2-weeks no CEU credit)
• Christian Ministry Certificate Course: 
  • Introduction to Hebrew Scriptures: Kat Goheen – online and one live session per week - $100

Climate Change Webinar
Sunday, November 12, 5 pm - 6:30 ET

Special guest from Interfaith Power and Light, Sarah Paulos, will share suggestions for greening our congregations, groups, and gatherings. These are practical, hands-on ways take seriously the climate emergency and to make a difference.

Responding to the Climate Emergency is not a “sit and wait” experience. It requires action, both individually and as a group. Interfaith Power and Light is a US national non-profit organization that inspires people of faith to assess their congregations and take action to mitigate climate change. Special guest Sarah Paulos will share stories and ideas based on IPL’s “Cool Congregations” work.
