A Generosity Cycle Reminder

11/2/2020

Picture
Community of Christ congregations and mission centers are invited to participate in the annual Generosity Cycle, 11 October-15 November.

The church celebrates various seasons, such as Advent and Lent, where our gaze is focused and we spend time in meaningful reflection and preparation. Similarly, the Generosity Cycle provides an annual opportunity to intentionally move together through a season of giving. The four phases of the cycle—Invite, Discover, Respond, and Reflect—encourage us to remember God’s extravagant grace and generosity to discover a deeper joy in living Christ’s mission, and to respond through whole-life stewardship as we reflect on our lives as generous disciples.

Disciples' Generous Response moments are focused on the four phases of the Generosity Cycle. Additional resources including a video and study guides also are available.

Click for more information about how congregations or mission centers can participate.

POIRIER, Louise Joanne (DiRosario)
After a lengthy illness, Louise passed away peacefully at the F. J. Davey Home on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at the age of 89 with her family at her side. Cherished wife of Albert for the past 69 years. Proud mother of Jim and Janet Poirier (Blue Mountains, ON) and Julie and Arnold Thom. Adoring grandmother of Kate Hanna (Jason), Christopher Thom (Nadia), Joshua Poirier (Talyta), Carrie Thom (Wayne Peters) and Craig Peckford (Jessica). Loving great-grandmother of Allie & Simone Hanna, Frankie & Bronte DiLivio-Thom, Luis Jacob (L J) Poirier, Nicholas, Callan & Rylee Dunbar, and Oliver Peckford. Beloved daughter of the late Dominic and the late Josephine DiRosario, and devoted sister of the late Donald DiRosario. Sister-in-law of the late Cecile Frayling (late Don), the late Ernie Poirier (Norma) and the late Amelia Poirier, Yvonne Nelmes (late Jack), and Robert & Eunice Poirier. Special Aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Much loved friend of the late Franca Vecchio. Long-time and cherished friend of June Zuke, Shirley Bumbacco and Velma Bruni who she regularly enjoyed having long lunches with, reminiscing at the Hong Kong Restaurant. Louise brought her sense of humour to every occasion. She treasured her family, friendships and welcomed everyone to her table.

Due to the Covid pandemic, a private family service will be held. In Louise's memory, donations may be made to the Sault Area Hospital Renal Dialysis Care Fund, the F.J. Davey Home Foundation, or the charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank all her amazing caregivers at the F.J. Davey Home (Cedar Grove Floor One). Their love, compassion and professionalism made Louise's stay a most enjoyable one. As well, we would like to thank the excellent doctors, nurses, and staff at the Sault Area Hospital Renal Dialysis Unit for their unwavering support and dedication for the past four years. A special thank you to the Home and Health Mobility team for the exceptional care they took transporting Louise to and from her dialysis treatments.
