As we work hard to return to our camping experiences this summer, I am reaching out to as many leaders as possible. In this email you will find 4 attachments which outline the job postings for our Lifeguard Team this season. We are hiring a Waterfront Supervising Lifeguard to lead the team, a Waterfront Lifeguard, and a Junior Waterfront Lifeguard to create our team. We are also looking for 2 Waterfront Lifeguards (not on the team) who would be available to guard at Erie Beach Reunion.
Please share this with your congregations via email, in person, or online. It's important we get these job postings known in our communities. Lifeguards do not have to be members of Community of Christ, however, they do need to be a Registered Youth Worker. If they do not have this certification, we may be able to have them attend the course before the camps to receive it (time is of the essence). I look forward to putting this team together again this year and will be keeping each of your camps in my prayers. Blessings, Tamara Wright In an address to the church, President Veazey shared the following words:
“The future church is being formed by a basic concept: Our chief purpose is to birth, nurture, and multiply communities of disciples and seekers engaged in spiritual formation and compassionate ministry and action.” He cited the Spiritual Formation and Companioning Program (SFCP) as one of the ways we are living out this vision for our future. For the past four years, participants from United States and Canada have been growing deeper in their own spiritual formation and developing their gifts and skills to companion and lead others in spiritual formation, deep listening, and discernment. Even though we felt the impact of COVID-19, the staff and participants persevered and completed the program online. We’re excited to congratulate TROY ROACH and NADINE MANSON who have both completed the course! Their expanded understandings and skills in spiritual formation will most certainly be a blessing to Canada East Mission. Thank you Troy and Nadine for your commitment to this valuable resource. There are a variety of ways that they might share what they have learned:
Katie Harmon-McLaughlin says, “Our hope is that we can all work together to respond in many ways to the Spirit’s invitation in this significant moment in the church and the world. We encourage you to invite these persons into conversation about where the Spirit is guiding their ministry and presence. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have additional questions about program participants and meaningful integration in local ministries.” In the future, Graceland University’s Seminary will offer SFCP as a certificate program. Stay tuned for more details. If you, or someone you know might be interested in participating, please contact the Mission Centre President Team to discuss further. |
