Camping and Events Specialist Camping and Campgrounds Team – Community of Christ in Canada
Community of Christ is looking for a Camping and Events Specialist to join their team in Canada. This is a full-time, fixed-term position reporting to the Director of Camping and Campgrounds.
Job Overview: The Camping and Event Specialist will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and administration of camping ministries across Canada. This role ensures safe, inclusive, and spiritually enriching experiences for campers and staff, while maintaining compliance with provincial standards and Community of Christ values. Under the direction of the Director of Camping and Campgrounds, the camping event specialist will implement the strategic direction and goals for camping programs in Canada. The primary mandate for camping programs is to teach people to love one another. The scripture that serves as a guiding principle is: The restoring of persons to healthy or righteous relationships with God, others, themselves and the earth is at the heart of the purpose of your journey as a people of faith.” Doctrine & Covenants 161:2b
Responsibilities and Duties:
Lead the coordination of camping ministry logistics including registration, documentation, waivers, and attendance tracking.
Manage financial processes such as budgeting, invoicing, and reporting.
Oversee digital and physical recordkeeping, ensuring privacy and data integrity.
Recruit, onboard, and mentor seasonal camp staff, ensuring alignment with ministry goals.
Facilitate staff training and certification, including Program Activity Leader (PAL) requirements.
Ensure compliance with child safety, health regulations, insurance, and Provincial Camps Association standards.
Maintain a training matrix and manage renewals of certifications and licenses.
Collaborate with leadership to enhance program design and camper experience.
Research and support grant applications relevant to camping ministry.
Produce post-event and annual reports on attendance, finances, and program impact
Skills and Qualifications:
Priesthood or seminary education required
College Certificate or Degree in Business Administration, Education, Hospitality, Human Resources, or Camping required
5-7 years of administrative experience preferred
Experience with Canadian camp compliance and safety standards strongly preferred
Strong organizational and project management skills
Excellent interpersonal, mentoring, and leadership abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital tools (i.e. Teams, HR systems, registration platforms, etc.)
Knowledge of PAL certification and Canadian Camps Association standards
Commitment to the mission and values of Community of Christ
Ability to travel between campgrounds during July and August

Graphic Designer Communications Team – Community of Christ in Canada Scope of Services and Deliverables
The Proponent agrees to provide the following:
A portfolio of original graphic content, including templates, images, video, slideshows, and working project files (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Canva).
Graphic content based on provided text and concepts for use in announcements, marketing campaigns, fundraising campaigns, and other purposes.
Digital media packages optimized for relevant platforms, including website, email, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok.
Media packages for print, such as postcards, promotional items, and other materials.
Manuals, guidelines, and template instructions for staff and volunteers at the organizational and congregational levels.
Categorized libraries of graphic content for internal use and publication.
A summary of all content delivered, including suggestions for updates and improvements based on performance, user feedback, and industry trends.
To produce the deliverables, the Proponent will:
Use only original work, licensed material, public domain assets, or organization-provided photos and video.
Browse stock image and video catalogues to source appropriate material.
Evaluate, organize, and catalogue usable source material into libraries.
Understand the organization’s mission and principles, and express them through visual design.
Follow the organization’s visual identity standards for all deliverables.
Adapt all deliverables to suit the intended audience (e.g., members, general public, youth).
Clip, resize, and repurpose long-form video content for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts.
Ensure all deliverables adhere to current platform guidelines and specifications (e.g., recommended dimensions, formats, durations).
Track performance, user feedback, and emerging industry trends.
Create templates and working files using Canva and/or Adobe Creative Cloud products such as Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Illustrator.
Obtain approval from the Director of Communications before using any additional design tools.
Collaborate with the Director of Communications on creative direction and project tracking.
