Discover India with Encounter World Religions — Mar 17–30, 2027

In 2024 I traveled to India where I spent days exploring religious sites, and since that time I have been dreaming about how to take you all back with me (Read more here). And now I am delighted to invite you to accompany Encounter on a once-in-a-lifetime journey into the spiritual heart of one of the world’s most vibrant and diverse cultures.

India is an incredible country, full of history, architecture, music, colour, and celebration where religions overlap and interweave into an extraordinary tapestry, visible in nearly every aspect of daily life.
 
During our visit to India we will:

• visit 5 cities over 13 days: Delhi, Varanasi, Agra, Amritsar and Dharamsala
• explore almost 40 sacred sites, including the Golden Temple, The Taj Mahal, and the incredible Mansoor Rock Cut Temple to name a few
• celebrate Holi, one of the world’s most colourful and joyous religious holidays, amidst the streets of Varanasi
• witness aarti rituals, Bhangra performances, and join a pilgrimage to holy sites at dawn
• take part in cultural events including hands-on colour making, musical instrument workshops, and join the fire ritual of the Holika Dahan
• meet incredible guides including an archaeologist who specializes in converting academic learning into accessible insights for travellers and a Tibetan exile living in Dharamsala
• immerse ourselves in the vibrant religiosity of the Ganges both from shore and by boat, wander through old world markets, and explore museums and landmarks that preserve and commemorate Indian history.
