Mission Centre Design Team: Conferences and Representation update

The Conferences and Representation Committee of the Mission Centre Design Team discussed the current representation models–member and delegate–and revised the previous recommendations based on the feedback provided by members across Canada. The team is now offers a new set of draft recommendations:

1. Community of Christ conferences in Canada will be member conferences.
2. There will be annual conferences.
3. Mission Centre conferences held in Canada will have hybrid access.
4. Registration is required for all voting members whether participating in person or online.
5. Livestream options should be provided for friends and seekers.
6. Every three to five years an in-person conference would be held which should alternate between east and west. The focus of such a conference might be a colloquy focused on mission (e.g. peace & justice) that invites people from across North America with a member conference as part of the larger endeavour.
