Graceland University is a 4-year liberal arts university sponsored¹ by Community of Christ. Of the 2,300 students enrolled either at the residential campus in Lamoni, Iowa(external link), or in on-line courses or in the professional nursing, business and seminary(external link) programs at the Independence, MO(external link) campus, typically more than 100 GU students are from Canada.
Graceland is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence within the context of a caring community, and over its more than 100 years of history has achieved success in preparing and transforming students, and as an institution in academics, athletics and community service.

¹ In order to avail themselves of public funding, over the last 40 years virtually all of the church-sponsored colleges and universities in Canada have either restructured themselves as public universities (e.g. Waterloo Lutheran University transformed into Wilfred Laurier University), or became colleges affiliated with public universities. This was not the case in the United States where there are an estimated 1,800 independent church-sponsored institutions, most of them similar in size to Graceland University.
